PARISH NOCTURNAL ADORATION SOCIETY

A unit of the Cohoes Nocturnal Adoration Society, members of this society give one hour of adoration per month to our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Any Catholic, age 16 or older, may join the group on the first Saturday of every month from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. in one of several area churches. There are no meetings

PARISH PARTNERSHIP

St. Ambrose parish has formed a partnership with St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Long Beach, Mississippi. The people of St. Thomas lost much as a result of hurricane Katrina. In forming a partnership we are supporting the people of St. Thomas through love and service and building relationships as brothers and sisters in Christ. The Partnership Committee at this time consists of four subcommittees.
TRIP PLANNING committee meets to plan the actual trips to Mississippi. They plan the logistics of the trip itself and the work that will be done while there.

FUNDRAISING committee is involved with raising money through actual fundraising events and through donations.

COMMUNICATIONS committee is involved with promoting events, writing a newsletter, developing a web site and maintaining communications within the subcommittees.

OUTREACH committee looks for ways to reach out to our own parish as well as to the people of St Thomas to look for ways to build relationships and make connections.

The Parish Partnership is a new ministry and we are very excited to welcome anyone who would like to volunteer.

PARISH NURSE

Volunteers needed to help our parish nurse with special projects at various times throughout the year.

PASTORAL CARE MINISTRY

Pastoral Care is provided by people who come together to assist others in need. It is not necessary to attend all the meetings. A member's commitment is personal, and service may be as flexible as time permits. The work of this ministry is confidential which is key for this group. Committee members make home visits to the ill or elderly, assist with errands, and provide transportation when needed.
