| RCIA RCIA Process at St. Ambrose “Our own journeys of faith sometimes can lead along straight paths, but they are just as likely to lead us over twists and turns. Some of us may be gifted by our families with a strong faith nourished in tradition and community. Others will discover Christ in the most unexpected places, at unexpected times and in the most unlikely people. Our lives progress along different roads from childhood to old age. Along that journey, our experience of God is shaped by our experience of life. If we are opened to God’s whispered summons, no matter which the road, we will find ourselves drawn ever closer to His love.”
The RCIA, Rite of Christian Initial of Adults, provides a process for people
who are searching, people who wish “consciously and freely to seek the
living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit enters
their hearts” (RCIA1). The reasons why people are initially attracted
to the Church are as varied as the inquirers themselves, and yet all those
who enter the RCIA share a desire to come to a living faith in God as members
of the Christian community.
